Sky Sports reveal what sources ‘directly involved’ in NUFC takeover have just told them

According to Sky Sports’ Keith Downie, Amanda Staveley’s PCP Partners are in ‘advanced talks‘ with Mike Ashley to complete the purchase of Newcastle United.

As highlighted by Downie below – Sky Sports’ north-east correspondent – he claims to have been told this by sources ‘directly involved’ in the proposed takeover, with this coming just moments after ‘significant’ legal documents emerged on Companies House this morning:

Sources involved directly in Newcastle United takeover have indicated that PCP Partners are in advanced talks with Mike Ashley to buy the club.

This follows significant Companies House legal document that emerged this morning

The documents confirm formal discussions and suggest a deposit may have been paid to secure ‘exclusivity’ for the buying side.

Sky Sports colleague Pete Graves has also weighed in following today’s developments, insisting that the documents are official, that a takeover is ‘closer than ever’ and that Ashley feels ‘time is right to sell’:

It’s not done, but it’s clearly taking positive steps, with these official documents proving this is a genuine attempt to buy the club, not another fakeover.

We’ve got everything crossed!
