NUFC loanee set for Champions League move as new transfer admission arrives from his agent?

It never seemed likely based on the bizarre lack of game time he was handed by Steve Bruce, but it seems Valentino Lazaro’s next move will be away from St James’ Park.

The Chronicle report that he looks set to join a ‘Champions League club’, with his agent also revealing that he’s now in deep discussions with an unnamed club after receiving interest from several parties.

Here’s what the Austrian’s representative, Max Hagmayr, told Krone.at. when asked about the former NUFC loanees future:

“With a club, we are already very far,”

“I would like to discuss all of this with Valentino after his vacation.

“It is important for Valentino to play more after this season,”

“There are interested parties.

“I’m talking to some clubs, but there’s no decision at this stage.

“With a club, as I said, one is very far.”

With it said to be a side set for the Champions League football and his agent highlighting the importance of regular game time, it seems he won’t be returning to Newcastle United – despite Bruce hinting at interest in another loan deal just a few weeks ago.

Considering RB Leipzig have qualified in the UCL slots in Germany and were believed to have just missed out on his signature in January, could it be them who are now at the front of the queue?

Who knows, however it seems pretty clear (if it wasn’t already) that the 24-year-old has played his last game for NUFC.

A talented player who was managed very poorly by Steve Bruce for me. Maybe it was never his intention to stick around, but we gave ourselves no chance of convincing him by limiting him to very little other than late cameos – no matter how much he impressed from the bench.
