Newcastle will see another one of their transfer targets go amiss in the next few days, as Crystal Palace have had a £19.5 million bid accepted for Eberechi Eze, according to The Telegraph.
Chris Waugh has also confirmed that Newcastle will miss out on the highly-rated QPR star – who both Bruce and NUFC scouts are said to be big admirers of.
As highlighte below, the 22-year-old is expected to complete his transfer across London in the ‘next 48 hours’.
That now means reported targets Maitland Niles (Wolves), Antonee Robinson (Fulham) and Ryan Fraser (Palace or West Ham) have all been missed out on in what has proved to be another frustrating summer so far.
What a shame for us, as Eze could have significantly bolstered our attacking options with his creative spark and ability in front of goal. Even more heart-wrenching is the fact that the midfielder was available for a relatively decent price, but signs for a mid-table rival instead.
We can only hope that Steve Bruce is prioritising a move for a striker, as I think we’ll come to regret missing out on QPR’s star man in years to come.

BIG, HUGE, MASSIVE mistake if we let this lad go without even making an effort to sign him.
This club really does disgust me with the lack of motivation it DOESNT have
