Keith Downie has been speaking live from St James’ Park on Sky Sports news in the latest few moments, sharing an update on THREE deals currently being worked on at Newcastle United.
Starting with Callum Wilson, he reveals that Matt Ritchie’s wage demands look to be a ‘stumbling block’ in our bid to sign the Bournemouth striker on a part-exchange deal.
As a result, he believes we could look to make a cash offer for Wilson instead, feeling a fee of around £20m may be demanded by the Cherries after they rejected Aston Villa’s opening offer of ‘£15m plus add-ons’ earlier today.

As he states below, he remains in talks with the club over personal terms and is said to be ‘keen’ on a move to St James’ Park, while a loan deal for Ryan Holding is still in the pipeline as Bruce eyes additional cover at centre-back:
Interestingly, Downie has just been on Sky Sports once again in the last few moments and stated that a deal for Ryan Fraser is the most advanced of the three.
