Sky Sports have confirmed Newcastle are one of SIX Premier League clubs to have contacted Liverpool over the availability of highly-rated striker Rhian Brewster.
Keith Downie claims that Liverpool are ‘sitting tight’ for now and are yet to make a final decision on a potential loan move for the England U-21 star.
As revealed below, it’s believed Aston Villa and Sheffield United are among the interested clubs, with Newcastle ‘relaxed’ about the situation as things stand following the £20m signing of Callum Wilson yesterday.
Brewtser not only bagged 11 goals in 22 games during a loan spell at Swansea last season, but has impressed Jurgen Klopp in pre-season – scoring three times in just 70 minutes so far!
Now Wilson has signed, our hunt for a striker isn’t quite as desperate, however another one should be brought in via one of the two domestic loan slots available to Steve Bruce now Dwight Gayle has been ruled out for FOUR months.
Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi have also been linked as potential loan targets.
