NUFC’s remaining fixtures compared to Fulham & Brighton’s as new relegation odds emerge

Brighton’s late defeat to Leicester may have kept them bang in the middle of this relegation dogfight, but aside from that it was a disastrous weekend for Newcastle United’s survival hopes.

A few hours after Steve Bruce came away “really, really pleased” with a point at West Brom, Fulham closed the gap to just ONE point with a brave and brilliant display at Liverpool.

That result created a significant shift with the bookies, seeing Newcastle move ‘ahead’ of Fulham as the most likely side to join Sheffield United and West Brom in the Championship next season.

Here are the latest relegation odds taken from Bet365, followed by our remaining fixtures compared to main rivals Fulham and Brighton:

  1. Sheffield United – 1/100 (1.01)
  2. West Brom – 1/50 (1.02)
  3. Newcastle – 6/5 (2.20)
  4. Fulham – 7/4 (2.75)
  5. Brighton – 4/1 (5.00)
  6. Burnley – 13/2 (7.5)

Newcastle (11 games) – Aston Villa (H), Brighton (A), Tottenham (H), Burnley (A), West Ham (H), Liverpool (A), Arsenal (H), Leicester (A), Man City (H), Sheffield United (H), Fulham (A).

Fulham (10 games) – Man City (H), Leeds (H), Aston Villa (A), Wolves (H), Arsenal (A), Chelsea (A), Burnley (H), Southampton (A), Man Utd (A), Newcastle (H).

Brighton (11 games) –  Southampton (A), Newcastle (H), Man Utd (A), Everton (H), Chelsea (A), Sheffield United (A), Leeds (H), Wolves (A), West Ham (H), Man City (H), Arsenal (A).

Fulham’s are tough but they have the momentum, meanwhile it feels like our kindest run has come just when we’ve been without our three best players! As for Brighton, they have some winnable games coming up but could be in trouble if they don’t win one of their next two…
