Journalist reveals huge contract Joe Willock is ‘set to sign’ after agreeing terms with NUFC

Joe Willock is set to sign a SIX-year deal at St James’ Park according to new reports emerging on Thursday afternoon.

Peter O’Rourke – a former Sky Sports and Press Association journalist – claims that the 21-year-old has now agreed personal terms with Newcastle United and will put pen to paper over a long-term contract.

This comes after The Telegraph revealed a few hours ago that we’d made a ‘breakthrough’ in negotiations with the Arsenal midfielder, with several other outlets now reporting that the move is edging closer to completion.

Here’s what O’Rourke has had to say, telling his 100,000 followers that a deal worth a reported £25m is now imminent:

Notorious transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano believes that the deal will be ‘completed soon’ in his lunchtime update, while Football Insider claim that Willock will sign a six-year contract on Tyneside – stating that a ‘full agreement’ is finally in place.

How much he could earn per-week is yet to be disclosed, however The Chronicle did report just yesterday that his representatives were pushing to make him one of the top earners at the club.

Either way, these are more promising reports on his proposed return, with several journalists stating that he’s set to sign – despite Mikel Arteta giving very little away in his press conference earlier today.

Fingers crossed, folks!

  1. So when you say it’s a HUGE contract, was it on a big piece of paper or what?

What was HUGE about it, bearing in mind that ASM, Murphy, Lascelles, Dubravka are all on 6 year contracts, as were a few who have already gone.
