New owners filmed leaving Newcastle United training ground after short meeting – Video

Sky Sports have revealed that Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have been at the Newcastle United training ground this afternoon following Steve Bruce’s exit.

As reported by Keith Downie, it’s believed the co-owners held a short meeting with the players and backroom staff to explain that Steve Bruce has left the club and will be ‘replaced soon.’

The North-East correspondent says they have now left the Benton base and were greeted by Newcastle fans as they left.

Watch a clip of that below, captured by Newcastle World just a few moments ago:

When it comes to Bruce’s potential replacement, it seems former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca is a serious contender, with Downie revealing the 48-year-old is set for more talks with the new owners this week.

Here’s what he had to say in an update for his Twitter followers this afternoon:

‘Amanda Staveley & Mehrdad Ghoudoussi have held a short meeting with players & backroom staff to explain that Steve Bruce has left and they will appoint a replacement soon.

‘They’ve now left the training ground and greeted some fans upon exit.

‘Newcastle expected to hold talks with Paulo Fonseca this week over vacant manager’s post.

‘Ex-Roma boss Fonseca one of a few candidates the club want to speak to regarding the managerial vacancy’

  1. Conte, Fonseca, Le Favre, Simeone, Gattuso, Zidane – OK – would be delighted with any of those.
Please – NOT Rooney!!! (Or come to that matter – not Lampard, Howe, Potter or Chris Wilder either).
Let’s face it if you have the money to pay for Alfie Boe or Jose Carreras to sing you’re not going to employ Alexander Armstrong are you?
