New relegation odds arrive after Premier League results go against NUFC – 7 contenders?

We may be winless and stuck in second bottom, however the bookies are NOT backing Newcastle United to go down this season.

Instead, the latest odds suggest it is Norwich (1/8), Burnley (5/6) and Watford (10/11) who are the current favourites to be relegated from the top flight come May next year.

Newcastle come next at 13/8, followed by Crystal Palace and Leeds at 4/1, with Southampton deemed outside bets to go down at 10/3 as things stand.

This comes after we remained winless with a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday – a result that felt slightly insignificant when we realised relegation rivals Watford had thumped Everton 5-2!

Elsewhere, Burnley and Southampton both matched our result with a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s, while Leeds rescued a point with a last minute leveller against Wolves – keeping them three clear of the drop zone.

Nevertheless, we’re still backed to stay up, with Sky Bet currently offering the following odds:

  1. Norwich – 1/8
  2. Burnley – 5/6
  3. Watford – 10/11
  4. Newcastle – 13/8
  5. Crystal Palace – 4/1
  6. Leeds – 4/1
  7. Southampton – 10/3

Following this are Brentford at 10/1 – highlighting how impressive they’ve been so far this season – with Aston Villa then coming next at odds of 11/1.
