Saudis ‘confident’ of early signing as new report names SIX players discussed in transfer talks

The Telegraph have shared a promising update on the transfer front, revealing SIX players who have been discussed in meetings ahead of the January window.

Those are Man United’s Jesse Lingard, Chelsea’s Ross Barkley, Liverpool’s Nat Phillips, Burnley’s James Tarkowski, Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier and Tottenham’s Harry Winks.

The same report also states that the Saudi-backed consortium are ‘confident’ they will move quickly to sign targets at the start of the January window, insisting that recruitment plans are in place – despite the fact no director of football has arrived as of yet.

Not only that, Luke Edwards’ piece states that our new owners have NOT encountered any clubs reluctant to do business with them, making a mockery of recent reports suggesting there will be an ‘anyone but NUFC’ policy when the winter window opens.

The Telegraph also claim that, wile ‘every area’ is being looked at, the club look set to prioritise improving the defence and centre midfield.

  1. Well this is the news I was waiting for, a definite signing of talented players , that may help us survive relegation, being it would become difficult to sign top players while in the second tier.
Soh ! finally the Saudi machine has began, it looked like they were stalled for a while, even so there has been little mention of a head of footballing operations @ St. James’and it wold be unfair to leave the heavy lifting job @hand to Howe alone.
A necessary speed is required and signings guaranteed, which would both in my case and I’m sure the rest of the fans be a relief, as the situation was becoming both controversial and the awareness that everyone is currently up to speed is certainly a comfort and could work to reject the sniping of other PL clubs. Soh !

  2. Personally I would argue that Boubacar Kamara and Nathan Ake are the two most important, Lingard and Tarkowski or Phillips would help as well.
