Following a 4-0 defeat to Man City last time out, we face Man Utd tonight in what promises to be another tough test on Tyneside.
The team news has arrived ahead of the 8pm kick off at St James’ Park. seeing us line up as follows:
STARTING 11: Dubravka – Krafth, Lascelles, Schär, Manquillo – Shelvey, Longstaff – Fraser, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin; Wilson.
SUBS: Woodman, Gillespie, Hendrick, Murphy, Almiron, Anderson, White, Gayle.
So, Eddie Howe has made SIX changes, seeing Krafth, Schär, Manquillo, Longstaff, Shelvey, Saint-Maximin come in for Clark, Hayden, Murphy, Ritchie, Willock, Almiron.
It’s also worth noting that there’s no Ritchie, Clark, Willock or Darlow in the squad, meaning we’ve been forced to name two goalkeepers on the bench and only eight subs.
Elsewhere, Isaac Hayden is unavailable for this one after picking up his fifth yellow cards of the season last week, while Jamal Lewis (hamstring), Federico Fernandez (thigh) and Paul Dummett (calf) remain out.
Here’s how Ralf Rangnick’s Red Devils line up, seeing Cristiano Ronaldo start:
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Telles, Fred, McTominay, Rashford, Bruno, Greenwood, Ronaldo
HOWAY THE LADS!
