According to reports in France, Newcastle have submitted a deadline day bid for West Ham’s Issa Diop.
This comes from RMC Sport, who claim that we’ve offered €8m (£6.5m) for the former Toulouse centre-back whose been linked with a potential move to Tyneside on several occasions this month.
Given the Hammers paid £22m to bring the 25-year-old to the London Stadium just a few years ago, they’d be taking a substantial hit to sell him for less than a third of that fee.
However, it has been suggested that they’d be willing to sell for around the £10m mark if they bring in Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car.
With Dan Burn’s £13m arrival imminent, Sky Sports reporting that moves for Hugo Ekitike (£25m) and Matt Targett (loan) are close and Jesse Lingard pushing to seal a late loan (The Athletic), a deal for another centre-back in Isaa Diop could mean we are trying to bring in up to FIVE new players today.
What a bonkers deadline day this promises to be!
