Watch stunning Ben Arfa assist as ex-Mag sets up Sven Botman goal against PSG – Video

It hasn’t taken Hatem Ben Arfa to show what he can do at Lille.

After signing for Lille two weeks ago on a free transfer until the remainder of the season, he started in his new side’s clash with PSG over the weekend and made an instant impact against his former club.

The Frenchman may be 34-years-old but proved he still has a turn of pace and silky dribbling skills, with him bursting past Di Maria and Mbappe before setting up Lille’s 28th minute equaliser for none other than Sven Botman – the giant centre-back who we tried and failed to sign last month!

This goal made it 1-1, however Lionel Messi gave PSG the lead just four minutes later in a game that ended 5-1 to the visitors.

Watch Ben Arfa’s brilliant assist for Botman below:

This was Botman’s second goal in three games for Lille, with him also scoring in a recent clash with Marseille.

Here’s a reminder of what Botman had to say when speaking to the Dutch press about January links with Newcastle United:

“I will continue here at Lille OSC and play in the Champions League against Lukaku and this Sunday against Messi, not bad at all.

“But this will be my last months at Lille OSC.”

“I can confirm both Newcastle and AC Milan were concrete options this winter.

Both were good options for me. I will take a good step in my career next summer”.

“Everyone says about Newcastle: it’s all about money. But it’s a very nice project.

“If you look at where Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain started. I think it would be very nice to be part of that, but of course Milan is also a beautiful club”
