VIDEO – Watch Santiago Munoz score on his St James’ Park debut in incredible 7-goal thriller

Just like in the film, Santiago Munoz scored at the Gallowgate End in his first appearance at St James’ Park last night.

After overcoming injury issues, the on loan Mexican has featured in the U23s last few fixtures, but he finally scored his first goal for the club in yesterday’s dramatic 4-3 win over West Brom.

Elliot Dickman’s second string were 2-0 down at the break after goals from Mo Faal and Jovan Malcolm gave the Baggies an early lead, however the 19-year-old striker made it 2-1 early in the second half after heading in from a Dylan Stephenson cross.

Watch his first goal for the club below:

Munoz almost drew us level just moments later after latching onto another Stephenson delivery, but former Liverpool talent Niall Brookwell made no mistake soon after to make it 2-2.

Nathan Carlyon then struck his first goal for the U23s to give us a 3-2 lead with 15 minutes remaining, only for West Brom to draw level on the 86th minute.

However, after five minutes of added time was followed by a flurry of NUFC corners, John Scott came up with a cool finish and 90th minute winner to seal a 4-3 win at St James’ Park!

A superb comeback, a huge win for the lads and one that keeps our Premier League 2 play-off hopes alive.

Here’s a post-match message from Santiago himself after almost 800 fans attended last night’s game on Tyneside:
