Is this a goodbye message as NUFC midfielder reacts to must-watch video from Monday night?

Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden responded on Twitter to footage of Monday night’s celebrations, stating ‘the future is bright’ and that he will be excited to watch us in the next few years.

To some, the message to fans sounds almost like a goodbye from the 27-year-old who was left out of the squad in the second half of the season due to requiring knee surgery.

He has also been heavily linked with a move away from the club with the Englishman unlikely to break into the midfield with the likes of Shelvey, Joelinton, Joe Willock and Bruno Guimaraes all ahead of him.

When he first signed, there were lots of rumours of the defensive midfielder being homesick after arriving from Arsenal – but despite this, he got his head down and became a standout player, going on to make 171 total appearances for us.

During his time on Tyneside, Hayden has been nothing short of a consummate professional and deserves the backing of all the fans in wherever he goes next – he will always be welcome at this club.

  1. I would be sad to see Isaac leave before he has had a proper chance for hus game to be improved by St Eddie. His transfirmation of Schar, Krafth and Joe has been astonishing, and Isaac has always had the talent, it has been constrained by playing in other managers’ systems. He did well under Benitez and tere is more to come from him, I feel.
