Steve Nickson keen to bring Serie A centre-back to Newcastle after long term interest – Report

As reported by The Chronicle, head of recruitment Steve Nickson is eager to make move for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer who has been on our radar for some time now.

The defender has enjoyed a much improved season with his Italian side, playing 33 times as they finished 10th after narrowly avoiding relegation last year just four points off of the bottom three.

Sitting in the heart of the back line, Bremer has played a crucial role in maintaining the fifth best defence in Serie A, earning him the award for best defender in the league.

Something that could work in our favour is that the 25-year-old is currently on the books of CCA Base who we have already worked with during the signings of both Chris Wood and Kieran Trippier in January.

The 6ft 2 man would also be another Brazilian target – alongside the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Renan Lodi, Raphinha etc – to go add to our impressive duo of Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.

  1. Try to sign the targeted Brazilian that could be setup a contingent like Brazil International. It can be capable to break through top for particular Manchester City and Liverpool that they have dominated the League. In addition, it can not be also delighted all the Newcastle’s fan but also Brazil’s admirer in the world ! At this moment, a lot of sponsorship will be coming with big fund. You can going to imagine a like Brazil contingent to play everyweek in the Premium League that would be very attractive .
