Newcastle United target Sven Botman has admitted he is “working on” a move to AC Milan, suggesting the centre-back could end up at the San Siro this summer, not St James’ Park.
After trying and failing to bring the Lille star to Tyneside in January, we appear to have reignited our interest in the 6ft 4′ defender in recent weeks.
The player himself confirmed our interest in an interview with the Dutch press last week, however his latest comments – while speaking to ESPN during international duty with the U21s – hint at a move to Italy.
Here’s what he had to say, with the video below showing him break into a potentially telling smile when asked about a potential move to AC Milan:
“AC Milan deal? We are working on that.
“It’s difficult for me to stay distant from things at the moment, I hear something about this almost every day”.
“Things are in progress and I hope there will be more clarity before the pre-season”.
If he prefers Milan bin him immediately Eddie & the club want committed players don’t pander

Agree totally, by wasting time on him like we did with Carlos, we risk getting nobody.
We need in order of priority:- A right sided attacker, a forward and a keeper
also don’t think the French kid will come.
