Player prepared to cut holiday short to join Newcastle as club wait for ‘green light’ – Lee Ryder

According to The Chronicle’s, Reims star Hugo Ekitike is edging closer to joining Newcastle United.

He reports that the 20-year-old is ‘prepared to cut his holiday short’ in order to seal a move to St James’ Park, claiming the player’s agent – Karl Mwalako Buchmann – has been in talks with Dan Ashworth over the past few days.

The Chronicle recently revealed that Ekitike was eager to receive assurances over his game time and role in this exciting new project on Tyneside, and it seems we’ve made it clear that he will play a ‘big part’ – both now and in the future.

This appears to have edged the move a step closer, as Lee Ryder claims that a medical has been set up at the club’s training ground, with us simply waiting for the ‘green light’ now a small issue surrounding agent fees seems to be the only obstacle left to overcome.

The forward celebrated his 20th birthday yesterday and is currently on holiday with PSG talent Timothee Pembele and Reims team-mate Nathaniel Mbuku among others.

Hopefully he’s spotted on a plane to Tyneside soon and this six-month long saga can finally end in him holding up a black and white shirt at St James’ Park!
