Agent offers Euro 2020 winner to Newcastle as free agent eyes Premier League move – Report

Newcastle are one of three Premier League clubs that have been offered the chance to sign Andrea Belotti on a free transfer, as reported by The Sun.

The report states that the Italian international is eager to secure a move to England, with his agent also reaching out to Everton and West Ham – although the latter seem unlikely to be interested as they close in on the £30m signing of Gianluca Scamacca.

The 28-year-old left Torino last month following an impressive seven-year spell with the Serie A side, scoring 100 times in 232 appearances in Turin and bagging eight in 22 last season.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with a move for Belotti, with Lee Ryder revealing that we had scouts watching the forward during EURO 2020

So, it seems he’s someone Nickson admires, although it remains to be seen if he’s a player that would appeal to Eddie Howe and the new regime.

The wage demands of the 44-capped Italian are unknown, and if one thing has remained consistent this window it is Newcastle’s refusal to pay over the odds, with us recently walking away from a free agent move for Jesse Lingard due to his lofty demands.

It could make sense for us to take a look – he’s got a decent track record, is available on a ‘free’ and may help us spend big on a right-winger – but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is more agent-driven gossip in a bid to ignite interest.
