Player ‘keen’ on NUFC move as club receives offers from Newcastle, Leicester & Southampton

According to The Chronicle, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is ‘keen’ to join Newcastle United this summer.

Lee Ryder reports that Eddie Howe is a fan of the 21-year-old, revealing that we recently confirmed our interest in bringing the former England international to St James’ Park.

However, the same piece reveals that we’ll face plenty of competition for the wide man, with Leicester, Southampton and a host of European clubs also in the mix – one of which is believed to be Borussia Dortmund.

That said, Chelsea currently prefer to see Hudson-Odoi spent the rest of the 2022/23 season in the Premier League – providing he’d receive regular game time.

The player himself was due to feature for Chelsea’s development squad against Fulham tonight, however it’s emerged this afternoon that he’s now been withdrawn after seeing loan interest intensify over the past 24 hours.

If Eddie Howe is keen, the player open to a move and Chelsea happy to loan him out, it seems a loan could make plenty of sense for all parties?

  1. Yeah Gallagher and/or Pulisic for me.

Hudson Odi MIGHT be a good player but he’s proven very little so far – not enough to put him ahead of Miggy, Fraser or Murph for me. At least we know all 3 of those (whilst lacking in real top quality) players give 100% for the shirt when they are playing.
