According to Football Insider, Newcastle have joined Everton in the race to sign Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson.
The report states that we’ve found a £29m release clause which exists in the player’s contract, meaning the La Liga side would be powerless should we activate the buyout option in the new year.
Jackson is a 21-year-old attacker who can operate anywhere across a front three, playing predominantly as a centre-forward this season but often operating out wide in previous campaigns.

He’s bagged a goal and an assist in six La Lia outings so far, following on from his seven goals and nine assists last season, with his performances recently earning him a first call-up to the Senegal squad.
