Callum Wilson drops fresh hint ahead of Saturday’s trip to Fulham – Recent reports confirmed?

This week, both The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards and The Mail’s Craig Hope have reported that Callum Wilson looks set to return for Saturday’s trip to Fulham.

Speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast, the man himself has now all but confirmed he’s fit again and “available for selection.”

Our number nine hasn’t featured for over a month, last appearing in that 3-3 draw with Man City at St James’ Park, but his latest comments suggest he’s had a good international break – “working hard” in training to put himself in contention this weekend.

With Alexander Isak ruled out for a few weeks with a lower leg injury picked up while away with Sweden and Chris Wood currently having a rib problem assessed, it could be ideal timing to have Wilson back at Craven Cottage.

Here’s what he had to say when asked about his current situation:

“We have Fulham on Saturday, which is away – looking forward to that one.

“I’ve worked hard to get to a point where I’m available for selection.

“I’ll be working hard this week in training, and then we’ll see where we are at.”

Eddie Howe won’t rush him back, but the boss admitted that Wilson was ‘close’ to returning against Bournemouth, so the two-week break and hard work in training should put him in good stead to return just when we need him this weekend.
