On the one-year anniversary of the Newcastle takeover, co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi reflect on what has been an ‘incredible’ year and how ‘excited’ they are for the future.
In the interview, the pair were quick to thank the fans for their ‘incredible support’ and revealed that they were disappointed not to be able to go to St James’ Park on the night it was confirmed to see the unbelievable atmosphere.
Staveley also reiterated how passionate she is about the women’s team and has promised to invest so that they can ‘go to to the top and have the same opportunities as the men’.
In terms of the future, they are ‘excited’ about the appointment of Darren Eales as CEO and, over the next 12 months, hope to continue to grow and develop what Staveley described as ‘the most special club in the world’.
