Wor Flags release statement ahead of special SJP display before Newcastle vs Brentford

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Brentford, Wor Flags have revealed that there will be a ‘completely new’ and special flag display on Saturday to mark the first anniversary of our takeover.

A ‘new giant surfer’ will be put on show in the Gallowgate end and the group have urged supporters in the area to help out with the display while reminding them that it is ‘vital’ that it stays static for as long as possible.

It will be a great way to remember and celebrate what was such a pivotal moment in the club’s history that completely uplifted an entire club, city and fanbase.

Wor Flags have played a crucial role in building the atmosphere in St James’ Park for years now, but since the takeover was completed back in October, the group just keep reaching new heights each week.

Here’s the statement they released ahead of the 3pm kick off at St James’ Park:

Coinciding with the team growing stronger and stronger, the displays appear to be getting more and more spectacular, so here’s hoping we can honour the great work those at Wor Flags do with a good result against the Bees.
