Newcastle United prepared to sell trio in January should the ‘right offer’ arrive – ESPN

As reported by ESPN, Newcastle could be convinced to depart with any of Matt Ritchie, Jonjo Shelvey and Paul Dummett should the right offer come in and ‘the depth of the squad is unaffected’.

The trio are all out of contract in the summer – although Shelvey is due to trigger a one-year extension – and with them all entering their 30s, it is very unlikely they have a long-term future at the club.

With our incredible form putting us on pace to claim a Champions League spot, Eddie Howe is hoping to avoid losing any of his squad in the coming window, but could be persuaded should the right replacement become available.

Shelvey had looked in great shape during this years pre-season, but an unfortunate injury has kept him out of the majority of this campaign and the 30-year-old is yet to make a lasting impression on Eddie Howe.

Despite the extension, there is a chance we could cash in on the former Liverpool and Swansea man should we sign one of the many midfielders we are targeting in the January window.
