Striker in talks to join Newcastle as Toon submit verbal offer for German sensation – Report

Some big news has emerged this morning from the Evening Standard, who report that Newcastle are in talks to bring Youssoufa Moukoko to St James’ Park.

According to their information, we have launched a ‘huge bid’ for the Borussia Dortmund star; who will be available on a free transfer this summer after failing to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga giants.

Nizaar Kinsella – a Chelsea correspondent for the Evening Standard – claims the 18-year-old sensation has received a substantial verbal offer from Newcastle worth a whopping £150,000-per-week.

It’s his understanding that we are ‘well-placed’ to beat both Chelsea and Barcelona to the striker’s signature on a pre-contract agreement, as neither club are likely to match our proposal.

Moukoko recently became the youngest player to ever feature in a World Cup for Germany in Qatar and has bagged six goals and four assists in 14 appearances in the Bundesliga this season – an impressive tally for a player of his age.

£150,000 seems a LOT of money – it would make him one of the highest earners at the club, above the likes of Kieran Trippier – but perhaps the lack of transfer fee has convinced our owners to make a move?
