Watch Toon trialist score one of THE goals of 2022 after arriving on Tyneside – Video

As we revealed in an exclusive last month, Jamaican talent Dujuan Richards was due on Tyneside on Monday 6th February for a trial.

With the player now a few days into his two-week audition, we’ve found what can only be described as one of the best goals you’re ever likely to see from the 17-year-old striker.

Playing in the semi-final of Jamaica’s ISSA Champions Cup, Richards scored a simply stunning solo goal to open the scoring for his side, Kingston College – the same academy that produced fellow Jamaican Leon Bailey.

Richards – who is known as ‘Whisper’ for his quiet nature – picked up the ball in his own half and showed superb dribbling and strength to hold off five opposition players before unleashing an absolute rocket into the far top corner with his lethal left-foot.

The commentators, heard in the clip below, joyfully burst out ‘goal of the season from the player of the season’, based off the 29 goals and 19 assists he had already tallied up for the season. Watch the wondergoal below:

Richards was recently invited to join a training session with the Jamaican national team by head coach Heimir Hallgrinsson – and you can see why when he’s capable of these moments of magic!

Since the takeover, Newcastle have shown a great interest in growing our youth squad, with Dan Ashworth talking up his desire to recruit some of the brightest young prospects around.

We have already shown a great worldwide scouting network with the arrival of Garang Kuol, and Whisper could be the next in line should he impress this month.
