New report names FOUR signings on Howe’s wishlist and fresh competition for £50m man

The Mirror have revealed that Newcastle are showing interest in Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney, Leicester’s James Maddison, Brighton striker Evan Ferguson and Bristol City sensation Alex Scott ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report states that Maddison remains a leading target, although it seems we could face high-level competition, with Man City and Spurs both considering end-of-season moves.

With Tierney struggling to get in ahead of Oleksandr Zinchenko at Arsenal, it is believed he is open to a move to the Magpies; who appear to be targeting a more offensive left-back.

18-year-old Ferguson could be an ideal signing, learning and developing under the ageing Callum Wilson, while offering a different option to the electric Alexander Isak. That said, he won’t come cheap after an impressive debut season with Brighton.

Scott is another youngster who has been tipped to be a future star and has already attracted a number of clubs after making a great impression in the Championship with Bristol City.

The Mirror add that we have sent scouts to watch the England U20 talent and are ‘ready’ to up our interest, with Tottenham, Wolves, West Ham and Crystal Palace also keen.
