Watch Joselu’s two-minute brace on Spain debut as former Toon striker is at it again – Video

Former Newcastle United striker Joselu bagged a brace in just two minutes as he made his Spain debut coming off the bench in a 3-0 victory over Norway on Saturday night.

The 32-year-old has only gone from strength to strength since he left Tyneside four years ago, enjoying spells at both Alaves and Espanyol in La Liga.

Although he only managed six Premier League goals in 46 appearances for the Magpies, the ex-Real Madrid forward has netted at least 10 times in his four seasons in Spain and is currently battling for top scorer with Lewandowski this season.

The first goal was a well taken header back across goal, while the second was a bit of a scramble as the ball fell perfectly to him to stab home and secure the victory.

Of all the former Newcastle players to go elsewhere and succeed, Joselu was probably one of the most unlikely candidates to have such an increase in form at this stage in his career.

If you are honest, it would have been virtually impossible for things to have become worse.
