Newcastle respond to Hugo Ekitike rumours & Howe handed huge double boost – The Telegraph

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United will NOT reignite their interest in Hugo Ekitike this summer.

Luke Edwards – The Telegraph’s North-East correspondent – claims the Frenchman now wants out of PSG after a difficult first season with the Ligue 1 giants, but the club have made it clear they have ‘no intention’ of revisiting a deal.

He reports that Newcastle were left unimpressed by his behaviour, believing the player’s representatives purposefully stalled on a move to St James’ Park – just when a deal had been verbally agreed – in order to join PSG instead.

Elsewhere, Eddie Howe has been handed a huge boost ahead of Sunday’s clash with Arsenal, with Sean Longstaff (foot) and Allan Saint-Maximin expected to return to the squad.

There were fears both would miss the remainder of the season, but their injuries are not as bad as first feared, meaning they’ll resume training in the coming days and be in contention this weekend.

Emil Krafth and Jamaal Lascelles aside, this will give Howe a fully-fit squad when the Gunners come to town, handing us a much needed lift as we enter the final few weeks of the 2022/23 campaign.

  1. Good on Newcastle regards Ekitike if players don’t want to come because of egos or agents and give their all for the club they can sling their hook.
When you see players like Bruno and Trippier who want to be part of the club it’s wonderful and refreshing.
