Newcastle look set to launch a £15m bid for Wolfsburg midfielder Felix Nmecha, according to The Telegraph.
Luke Edwards reveals that Toon scouts have been watching the German closely for ‘several months’, with the club having a keen focus on value for money buys from the Bundesliga.
After positive reports from our recruitment team, it’s believed Eddie Howe is keen to sign the 6ft 2′, box-to-box midfielder, believing his all-action style will suit the Premier League.
The 22-year-old has also received interest from Man Utd and Borussia Dortmund and is currently preferred to Nice’s Khepren Thuram; a player being ‘seriously considered’ but one who is expected to demand a fee closer to £30m. Liverpool are also competing for Thuram, making that a tougher deal to do.
Nmecha was on Man City’s books until he was release in the summer of 2021 and represented England at youth team level, before switching allegiances to Germany; where he won his first senior cap back in March.
