‘HERE WE GO!’ – Sandro Tonali deal done – Full details & surprise clause revealed by Romano

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano just a few moments ago, Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United is now a done deal.

He reports that the 23-year-old has passed his medical and will sign a six-year contract that sees him earn €7m-per-year, plus a further €2m in add-ons.

The transfer fee is ‘€70m with add-ons’, although Romano reveals that AC Milan have secured a sell-on clause, meaning they will be due a portion of any future sale.

Newcastle staff have been in Romania to oversee the midfielder’s medical today, with Tonali completing all of the formalities after captaining Italy in last night’s U21 European Championship clash with France.

A stunning signing for the club, who’ve attracted one of Serie A’s top talents to Tyneside and made another huge statement ahead of our upcoming season in the Champions League. This will turn heads around Europe and can only boost our bid to attract more top names to St James’ Park this summer.

See Romano’s eagerly anticipated update below, confirming that Tonali has become the most expensive Italian in history!

Next up, the official announcement from Newcastle United and pictures of our new signing in a Toon shirt.
