As we revealed in a NUFC Blog exclusive earlier this month, Newcastle United have been in talks to sign Southampton full-back Tino Livramento.
A few weeks on, The Telegraph have just released their own piece on the former Chelsea talent, confirming that we are closing in on a deal for the England U21 international.
They report that we are in ‘advanced talks’ with Southampton over a potential £15m move for the 20-year-old, with Eddie Howe believing his versatility – he can play right-back or left-back – and big potential can make him a ‘key addition’ to his squad.
The Saints are thought to value the defender at around £30m, but Newcastle are looking into the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal, with Ryan Fraser offered Southampton’s way as part of the deal.
As we shared in our exclusive earlier this month, Livramento is represented by the same agency as Howe, helping talks progress between the two parties.
