Newcastle contact Chelsea over the availability of two players – Report

Newcastle have ‘registered an interest’ in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah and remain keen on Conor Gallagher, according to reports.

This comes from 90min, who report that we’re eyeing up players with Champions League and Premier League experience; two boxes Chalobah ticks in our search for an athletic, right-sided centre-back.

Chelsea are looking to trim their overly inflated squad and raise funds after spending over £500m last season, meaning a host of players have been made available.

The 23-year-old, however, is also on the radar of a number of other clubs, with Crystal Palace, West Ham and Inter Milan also showing interest in the defender..

Chalobah only recently signed a six-year contract with the Blues back in November last year, but the English youth international is thought to want more game time and is currently unsure if he’ll be part of Maurico Pochettino’s plans.

The same piece reports on our ongoing interest Conor Gallagher, although any loan bid would be rejected as Chelsea would only let the midfielder leave on a permanent deal. He’s a high-energy player who could fit into Eddie Howe’s system nicely, but I’d be surprised if the club were prepared to spend big here.

  1. Chelsea should be looked at for ffp regulations. They spent 600 million last season. Sold so far about 200 million of players , but they’ve already spent that on new player’s? How many players do they want or are they making three teams . This ffp rule is a joke . We haven’t spent anything for years now we have abit of money clubs up the price . Or we have to comply to ffp rules , WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR CHELSEA ,ARSENAL,MAN CITY,MAN UNITED, TOTTENHAM . THIS IS A COMPLETE JOKE THEY CAN SPEND AS MUCH AS THEY WANT AND NOTHING HAPPENS . OH SORRY I FORGOT LIVERPOOL IN THAT . KLOPP ***** .
