Newcastle reignite interest in winger wanted by Aston Villa, Spurs & West Ham – Report

According to The Mail, Newcastle have reignited our interest in Leicester winger Harvey Barnes; who is also attracting interest from Aston Villa, Tottenham and West Ham.

Barnes is keen to make a return to the Premier League following the Foxes relegation, but his price-tag remains an issue for a handful of teams.

Having spent £55m on AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali, it’s reported that the Magpies are reluctant to pay a big fee for the 25-year-old; who scores 13 times for the East Midlands side last season.

The Mail reveal that we’ve also ‘discussed’ Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and Barcelona’s Ferran Torres as potential alternatives, although Barnes remains the preferred option due to his Premier League experience.

With a top midfielder already secured, the priority may now be another wide player. However, with Tonali costing big money and FFP still an ongoing hurdle to overcome, a lot could depend on Leicester’s asking price.
