According to a new report, Allan Saint-Maximin is not sold on a move to Saudi Arabia following interest from the Middle East.
This comes from FootballTransfers, who claim that the 26-year-old is ‘not convinced’ by a move to the Saudi Pro League; even if it could prove highly lucrative for the winger.
The report adds that he’s ‘open to offers’ – despite his emotional connection to Newcastle – now his future on Tyneside remains unclear, with a move to Serie A his preferred destination should the club decide to cash in this summer.
This comes after The Telegraph reported on Monday afternoon that Newcastle could sell the Frenchman to fund moves for Leicester winger Harvey Barnes and Southampton’s Tino Livramento; two targets who are both believed to be keen on a move to St James’ Park.
What happens next when it comes to ASM is anyone’s guess. One minute he’s up for sale, the next he’s part of Eddie Howe’s plans. One minute reports claim he’ll leave, the next it’s reported he’ll stay and fight for his place. Either way, a move to Saudi would be great for his wallet but not the move needed to realise his Champions League or national team dreams.
It’s the media who post these stories not the club or the player ..
