Frenchman ‘agrees’ to join Newcastle alongside winger – Big claims on Monday

According to reports on Monday evening, Newcastle have verbally agreed personal terms with Monaco’s Axel Disasi and Leicester’s Harvey Barnes; although transfer fees are yet to be agreed with their respective clubs.

Starting with Disasi, an exclusive from Steve Kay at FootballTransfers reveals that we have held talks with the Monaco centre-back and reached a verbal agreement over a potential move to St James’ Park.

He reports that we’ve received the green light from the player’s camp, with the player happy with the game time on offer and ready to take the next step in his career. The next step would be agreeing a fee with Monaco, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on Sunday night that we’re set to approach the Ligue 1 side. Man Utd are also keen on the 25-year-old, but will only pursue another CB if Harry Maguire is sold.

As for Barnes, it’s believed to be a similar situation. The Telegraph report that he’s already agreed personal terms with Newcastle, signalling his readiness to join Eddie Howe’s Mags. But, like any deal for Disasi, Toon chiefs will only get their man if they can come to an agreement with Leicester over the transfer fee.
