BBC: Newcastle sanction third loan move with another exit now ‘close’

According to the BBC, Newcastle are ‘close’ to agreeing a loan move to send Harrison Ashby to Swansea City for the upcoming season.

This comes after the news that Allan Saint-Maximin, Garang Kuol (loan), Karl Darlow and Jamal Lewis (loan) are all also likely to leave the club in the coming days.

Ashby signed for the Magpies back in January for around £3m but failed to make an appearance in the first team due to picking up an injury. However, he’s looked the part over pre-season, scoring in our 2-1 win at Rangers.

With Howe keen on bringing another right-back to play backup to Trippier, the boss clearly feels the 21-year-old needs to spend a season away from the club to continue his development.

A stint in the Championship playing regular football could be perfect for the young defender, who will hopefully have a part to play in Newcastle’s not too distant future.
