New bodycam footage shows Kieran Trippier’s brilliant speech before Aston Villa clash

The Premier League have released new bodycam footage from Bruno Guimaraes that shows Kieran Trippier giving a brilliant speech to rally the players before our game against Aston Villa.

The video (watch below) is an extended version of the clip that they released on Monday and also shows a lot more of the communication between the players and the intensity of the game.

Before kick-off, Trippier made sure that the team understood that this was a ‘proper test’ and that ‘everyone’s watching’, so they had to give a good account of themselves.

He also reminded them of the ‘standard’ that Eddie Howe demands of them all and showed exactly why he is the perfect captain while Jamaal Lascelles remains out of the side.

Here’s what Trippier said in the huddle, followed by the clip itself:

“Lads, this is a proper test now, Aston Villa this starts our season off. Standards, everyone’s watching us as the gaffer says every day. Let’s give a good account of ourselves, 45 minutes let’s give everything.”

It’s yet another example of the right-back’s leadership skills and how important it is to have someone like him in the team to settle the nerves and lead by example. Watch the full clip below:
