New footage shows Jamaal Lascelles fight as Toon skipper is attacked in Newcastle – Video

As reported by the Daily Mail, Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles was ‘attacked’ by a gang who ‘threatened to shoot’ him and his brother last weekend following our 1-0 defeat to Man City.

The incident occurred on Westgate Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, as Lascelles arrived back from our visit to the Etihad for a night out after Howe gave the team two days off.

Video footage (see below) has emerged on social media recording what appears to be the 29-year-old – who can be seen wearing a black T-shirt and green gilet – receiving a punch to the head before defending himself:

It’s believed that the defender’s 19-year-old brother was attacked and left bleeding, resulting in Lascelles’ act of self-defence while a friend of his on the night out was left unconscious.

The gang ran off before emergency services arrived to attend to his friend, who onlookers initially feared could be dead after being knocked out.

Police are now investigating the incident. As of yet, no arrests have been made and the club are aware of the incident, but plan to deal with the matter internally.
