Group of death vs most winnable – Newcastle’s ‘best and worst’ outcomes ahead of UCL draw

Ahead of tonight’s Champions League draw – set to take place at around 5pm on TNT Sports – it’s a good time to look at the possible group Newcastle could come out with in a few hours time.

Based on the pot allocations (see below), we believe the ‘group of death’ would be Bayern Munich (pot one), Real Madrid (pot two) and AC Milan (pot three), seeing Newcastle (pot four) face European giants from Germany, Spain and Italy.

There’d be plenty of glamour ties and three hugely exciting games to look forward to at St James’ Park, but that is perhaps the toughest group we could face.

As for the most winnable outcome, there’s a chance our group could consist of Feyenoord (pot one), Porto (port two) and FC Copenhagen (pot three), handing us a massive chance of making it to the knockout stages.

Based on the pots below, what do you see as the ‘best and worst’ case scenarios for Newcastle United? Either way, we can’t wait for the draw and to see Eddie Howe’s Mags battling Europe’s elite at SJP!
