Newcastle pushing for more major deals after £45m boost and Adidas gamechanger – Report

As revealed by Mark Douglas at iNews, Newcastle United are working on more commercial deals to boost future spending, with ‘innovative training ground and stadium partnerships’ under discussion.

Darren Eales has already confirmed that our participation in the Champions League is worth “£45m to the bottom line” and Douglas explains how that figure will go up if we can qualify for the knockout stages, with each home match worth in excess of £1m.

The club have also announced a multi-year deal with Adidas today, which has already been described as the biggest commercial deal in the club’s history. Speaking to iNews, a source with knowledge of our agreement with Adidas has revealed that deal is worth “nine figures and hundreds of millions of pounds.”

Our partnership with front-of-shirt sponsor Sela earns us a reported £25m per-season, the Amazon series is believed to have earned us in excess of £10m and our Noon sleeve sponsor is worth £7.5m each year.

Commercial revenues are on the rise, while our earnings based on TV appearances have improved since the takeover, with the majority of games in league or cup shown on Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Amazon Prime or the BBC.

It’ll be interesting to see what’s next when it comes to the training ground or St James’ Park, with naming rights available on both fronts and often hugely lucrative.
