Two medicals booked as Newcastle accept loan bids after deadline day U-turn – Reports

It looks like Isaac Hayden and Jeff Hendrick are finally edging closer to moves away from St James’ Park.

According to Football Insider, Hayden looks set to join Standard Liege after his proposed move to Sheffield Wednesday collapsed on deadline day, with a medical in Belgium now booked.

Their summer window is open until September 6th, buying him all parties some extra time as he prepares to spend the 2023/24 season in the Belgian Pro League after moves to Wednesday AND Luton fell through this week.

Elsewhere, Jeff Henrick has arrived in South Yorkshire ahead of his medical at Sheffield Wednesday; the very club who almost signed Hayden earlier today. The Sheffield Star’s Joe Crann claims his move to the Championship side is ‘all but done’, with The Telegraph also reporting that they’ve turned their attention to the Irishman after pulling the plug on Hayden.

Hopefully there’s no issues in Belgium for Hayden, who has struggled with knee issues for a few years now and trained away from our first-team all summer.
