‘Done deal’ – Newcastle set to announce another loan exit after deadline day snub

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Isaac Hayden’s loan move to Standard Liege is now a ‘done deal’ – but it includes no option to buy.

The midfielder, who has three years left on his contract, has been out of favour since the arrival of Eddie Howe and is looking to play regular football elsewhere.

After loan moves to Luton Town and Sheffield Wednesday broke down despite the 28-year-old arriving for his medical, there were fears he would have to remain at the club, with the Owls opting for Jeff Hendrick instead on deadline day.

However, a move to Belgian side Standard Liege materialised on deadline day and it looks as though his loan spell is set to be confirmed imminently.

The former Arsenal man has been a complete professional during his time at Newcastle, so hopefully he can get his career back on track in Europe and start playing regular football once again.
