Huge concern on Tuesday morning as Italian media reveal Sandro Tonali injury

According to reports, Sandro Tonali has picked up an injury and will not play in tonight’s crucial Group C clash with Ukraine.

This comes from Sky Sports in Italy (shared by Football Italia), who reveal that the midfielder has been ruled out of the game after picking up a ‘slight muscle injury.’

Tonali started their 1-1 draw with North Macedonia over the weekend and was expected to play again tonight, but this news is not what we wanted to hear just a few days before our Premier League clash with Brentford on Saturday night.

Not only that, we’re just one week away from our Champions League opener away to AC Milan, so we’ll have to wait and see if he’ll be available for either game.

With Joe Willock out for another five weeks, Joelinton carrying a knock at Brighton before going away with Brazil and Elliot Anderson withdrawing from the Scotland squad with a unspecified issue, this is the last thing we needed.

Let’s hope it’s just precautionary and he’s back playing in a black and white shirt ASAP.
