According to reports in Spain, Newcastle have reignited their interest in Barcelona winger Raphinha after failing to sign him in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour in Catalonia and SPORT claim that an offer is ‘very likely’ to arrive next summer, with the La Liga giants preferring not to sell in the middle of the season.
This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with a move for the former Leeds star, with Fabrizio Romano describing him as a “dream” signing for Newcastle back in June. In the end, he sealed a big-money move to Barca, but he’s only made three league starts so far this season and may fancy a return to England.
Next summer, a top priority could be the signing of a quality right winger and Raphinha has pace, Premier League experience, works hard and will know the likes of Bruno and Joelinton; adding to our Brazilian contingent.
A lot will depend on the price Barcelona demand, yet he’s a player who would tick so many boxes for Newcastle. One to watch?
