Bruno Guimaraes’ message to Sky Sports when asked if he’s staying at Newcastle

After his man-of-the-match performance in Saturday night’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, Bruno Guimaraes spoke to Sky Sports’ David Jones.

He was asked about his two goals, playing in a slightly more advanced role and his celebration in front of a packed-out away end before Jones asked specifically about his future on Tyneside.

When asked about his future on Tyneside, he said: “Sometimes people speak a lot about me. I just speak a lot about football. I’m very happy here, and I like how the fans think of me here.

“I enjoy my time here a lot. I have never felt so loved. The fans have been unbelievable with me and my family. When I get the shirt I try to play for them. I don’t know (how long I’ll be here), but I hope this can keep going for much longer.”

Earlier in the interview, he also talked up the importance of getting Newcastle back in Europe and this win felt like another important step to achieving that.

He also touched on playing as a No 8, saying: “I played 60 minutes as a No 8 and I felt more freedom, I felt very, very well”

The £100m+ release clause in his contract has been reported on for some time, but it’s clear the Brazilian is loving life on Tyneside and in no rush to leave.

His brace today was brilliant and that sprinkle of quality that was needed to leave Nottingham with all three points. Let’s hope he sticks around for several years to come!

  1. He needs to realise he’s not as good as he thinks he is and stop giving the ball away so much.

I was in hysterics after his first goal when he ran to the fans and kissed the badge. Not the club badge. The Castore badge.

  3. Its always the same Critics love a good story, before the takeover we were slagged off and then when it happened big clubs were crapoing themselves.Everyone loves to see us lose Because we are the richest but seldom applause us when we get into Europe.
