As reported by the Chronicle, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has sent out a message to those who had linked him with a move to Arsenal in the summer.
When asked about the rumours, Benitez said: “I am just concentrating on the Norwich game.
“As a manager you know that people will talk. But the main thing for me is to be sure we are doing well and doing our jobs.”
Benitez’s comments seem to suggest that he is very much focused on the job at hand and not worrying about any links elsewhere.
This will come as a huge boost to Newcastle, especially with the finish line now in sight and the team leading the way in the division.
However, there is no guarantee that Arsenal will not come calling in the summer, if Arsene Wenger does leave.
For the time being however, it is all hypothetical and Benitez, like everyone else at the club, will be focused solely on promotion.
