Ryan Taylor targets starting role…

I've been harsh on this lad!
Ryan Taylor has stated today that he won’t be happy to sit on the bench at NUFC and wants to prove to Alan Pardew that he is capable of performing at Premier League level.

Now I’m not sure if you all know about my feelings towards Ryan Taylor, but I’ll guess that you may have more of a clue by the end of the article. I’m not one to get on the backs of players and at times I can go too far defending them, but something about Ryan Taylor really really grates on me. Still, at least he wants to prove a point I guess;

“I’m always there and available for the gaffer. I know what he means by me being a different option. If he needs me, I’ll be there.” said Taylor. “Like any player, I’m not happy to sit on the bench. I want to show him I can play, and that I can be in that starting XI.”

Now excuse me whilst I vomit a little bit, but the thought of seeing him playing first team football for us in the Premier League makes me wretch. I wasn’t mad keen on him last season either, and that was in the Championship. A temporary sub is all he has ever been for us.

I just fail to see what Taylor can add to the team. He isn’t fast, can’t pass, can’t dribble and has somehow managed to gather a reputation for being a set-piece specialist, although as yet I’ve not seen any evidence of this in a black and white shirt.

The final straw for me was the Bolton game. I was in the Milburn Stand that game, blissfully unaware that Joey Barton, who I’d been watching warm up, was to be ruled out. When I saw Ryan Taylor trot out of the tunnel in his place I was less than impressed. I knew he’d balls something up

Sure enough, ten minutes into the second half, my hunch turned out to be correct as he miscontrolled the ball and then tried to snap a Bolton player in half. I said to the wife, who was doing her nails or playing with something sparkly at the time, that Taylor was an ‘idiot’ 😉 and that his lunge was a straight red. We know the rest……

Fast forward six weeks, and have we missed him? I’d say no, although others may disagree. Taylor does admit however that he has been disappointed to have been ruled out;

“It was six weeks, almost to the day I think, since I got sent off,” Taylor told the Gazette. “You never hear of a three-game suspension being six weeks. Normally, there’s a midweek game somewhere along the line so you play two in one week.”

“It’s just the way it went for me. I’d come back from an injury I couldn’t prevent, and then had a suspension 55 minutes into my comeback game, which wasn’t ideal. Hopefully, now I’ll get a few minutes on the pitch now I’m fully fit and free from suspension.”

Hopefully? For you maybe Raylor!

  1. Raylor has to be our worst signing in the current squad.
I just can’t find any positives.

  2. I’ll give him credit in that respect as I think Perch is the worst signing in the current squad.

The fact that is the only compliment I can think of says a lot 😕

  3. Aye he’s streets ahead of Perch in quality like, Perch’s level is about league 1.

  4. @toonsy
I considered Perch and it was a toss up between the two, but for me, it’s probably cos Raylor has been here longer and I’ve seen more of him that he gets my nod for the worst signing.

  5. I’ve got so much admiration for Hootz but the signing of Perch is a big negative.

  6. What is scholes just done ! That was reckless and could have blown manures hopes of the cup.
Sent off by the way if not watching.

  7. It was a pathetic thing to do. He had no intention of getting the ball.

  8. GO MAN CITY!

don’t allow that **** squad of man utd any chances of getting treble. 😈 👿

  9. I hope there is no criticism from Man City about that challenge. It would be very hypocritical indeed considering they have De Jong in their team.

    Come on Man U!

  10. This has been one of the worst squad SAF managed, and i don’t feel they deserves the treble at all. 🙄

Come On Man City. 😆 😈

  11. Bobby could you imagine the outrage if that was Barton. Scholes can be a cracking player but when the chips are down he can be a bomb waiting to go off.
I wondor if the media will have a witch hunt now or will it be forgot about

  12. Does anybody think manure will take us lightly on tuesday and rest a few. Evans and Smalling at the back? Cusack in goal?

      (Quote)

  13. AoD
I hate manure fans more than any but Fergie is a genius and I would like them to get the treble.
I’ve mellowed over the years regarding their fans and now pity them cos it’s almost embarrassing to be a supporter.
They must cringe or be incredibly socially inadequate to admit to being a manure supporter.
You say they have a **** squad and I agree with you in terms of previous squads but that’s what makes my point about Fergies brilliance.

  14. AOD – Fock the treble. Who really give a **** anyway? It’s not our concern. What I want is extra time. Knacker em out a bit more for Tuesday 😈

  16. @Big Dud 😉
No because Scholes is a complete professional off the field.
Barton has been a thug and has brought it on himself .
    Totally different characters.
I believe Scholes did that out of frustration because he can’t perform like he has in the past. It happens to alot of players and often convinces themselves that it is time to retire.

  17. @AoD
    Let’s hope he’s available.
He has had a great career and hit his prime at 28 yrs old.
He’s not a patch on his hey day.

  18. @Bobby Shinton number 9: Is actually due more towards Arsenal mental ability to keep going on,making some disappointing draws against bottom clubs.

Or else,it would be Arsenal winning the league easily this season.

  19. I really cant understand the stick Taylor get he mightn’t be a top player but the Lad always gives 100% I would rather that than some ****** that just goes through the motions.
Toonsy I take it you have bad memories of someone called Taylor 😕

  20. Dave – Nope. I just don’t, and never have, rated him.

Ah well, Man U will be proper pissed off for Tuesday now like.

  21. Bobby I take it you were answering me @ 19 so because its out of frustration thats an excuse ?.
There is no excuse for that premeditated lunge

  22. Toonsy I agree he is nowt special but compared to some of the so called big names we have had you have to admit atleast he tries and gives 100%

  26. By the way Angel of Death. What’s with the name?
Most people have names associated with themselves or the club for example, bobby shinton was a toon goon, batty is absolutely batty, Moreno misspelled his name cos he’s a moron,
    likewise should be twitters,
AndrewNUFC is obviously so boring he could only think of his name and the club he supports,
raffo is of Italian origin and his mother won him in a raffle,
Big Dave is big and is called Dave,
Stuart79 was in his school team squad and was
number 79 after one legged bob who was
    number 78,
Brisvegas is clueless so he’s got am excuse,
RichieToon is called Richie and is as boring as AndrewNUFC and is from the Toon.
I know I’ve missed a few out but if I have it’s cos you may own the blog and I don’t want to be barred ! 😛

  30. Toonsy you dirty dog I know that was aimed at me 😉 I have seen Nolan get stick but not anywhere near as bad as what the 2 Taylors and Smith get, but they all give 100%.

  32. @Big Dud
I’m sure you would give 100% like Raylor but you wouldn’t get any credit for your lack of ability.

  33. Bobby – I remember people saying that about me when I was made up to admin on .org 😉

Along with many other things of course 😉
