Ryan Taylor targets starting role…

I've been harsh on this lad!
Ryan Taylor has stated today that he won’t be happy to sit on the bench at NUFC and wants to prove to Alan Pardew that he is capable of performing at Premier League level.

Now I’m not sure if you all know about my feelings towards Ryan Taylor, but I’ll guess that you may have more of a clue by the end of the article. I’m not one to get on the backs of players and at times I can go too far defending them, but something about Ryan Taylor really really grates on me. Still, at least he wants to prove a point I guess;

“I’m always there and available for the gaffer. I know what he means by me being a different option. If he needs me, I’ll be there.” said Taylor. “Like any player, I’m not happy to sit on the bench. I want to show him I can play, and that I can be in that starting XI.”

Now excuse me whilst I vomit a little bit, but the thought of seeing him playing first team football for us in the Premier League makes me wretch. I wasn’t mad keen on him last season either, and that was in the Championship. A temporary sub is all he has ever been for us.

I just fail to see what Taylor can add to the team. He isn’t fast, can’t pass, can’t dribble and has somehow managed to gather a reputation for being a set-piece specialist, although as yet I’ve not seen any evidence of this in a black and white shirt.

The final straw for me was the Bolton game. I was in the Milburn Stand that game, blissfully unaware that Joey Barton, who I’d been watching warm up, was to be ruled out. When I saw Ryan Taylor trot out of the tunnel in his place I was less than impressed. I knew he’d balls something up

Sure enough, ten minutes into the second half, my hunch turned out to be correct as he miscontrolled the ball and then tried to snap a Bolton player in half. I said to the wife, who was doing her nails or playing with something sparkly at the time, that Taylor was an ‘idiot’ 😉 and that his lunge was a straight red. We know the rest……

Fast forward six weeks, and have we missed him? I’d say no, although others may disagree. Taylor does admit however that he has been disappointed to have been ruled out;

“It was six weeks, almost to the day I think, since I got sent off,” Taylor told the Gazette. “You never hear of a three-game suspension being six weeks. Normally, there’s a midweek game somewhere along the line so you play two in one week.”

“It’s just the way it went for me. I’d come back from an injury I couldn’t prevent, and then had a suspension 55 minutes into my comeback game, which wasn’t ideal. Hopefully, now I’ll get a few minutes on the pitch now I’m fully fit and free from suspension.”

Hopefully? For you maybe Raylor!

  1. Is it sad that Capello has to have prepared his comments before hand and read them like a script or is it a credit that he wants to do it in English and is just preparing beforehand to do his best?

    I am not sure.

    Know weigh! Barca are supreme.
I have never in my life seen a better footballing side. They destroyed Arsenal.
I was mesmerised by that performance.

Thankyou for saying I’m on top form. Some would say I’m scraping the barrel.
By the way, are you watching the build up to the Barca v Real game?
It’s embarrassing! Capello is being interviewed live and he is really struggling getting his point across. He’s reading from bits of paper as he’s obviously been told what questions they would ask.
I’ve seen the local asylum seeker talk better English! If capello was outside my supermarket with the big issue I would tell him to learn English before I gave him money.
Seriously that’s how bad it is!

  9. Bobby – I don’t think calling people by their screen name is too much to ask. Once or twice was funny, but every time is just plain boring.

Bobby I dont know who called you it but I know it wasn’t me as im not really in to name calling, and I know there is no harm meant and its tounge in cheek the same as if I called you Bob the knob. but I do find it very disrespectful that someone doesn’t have the decency to call you by your right name.

If I wanted to be called names and disrespected I would have just stayed on .org 😉

  16. I know ed’s live affair is disturbing and it would be nice if Larsson fuked off to Spain so we wouldn’t hear about him again from him, but you could do a lot worse than him on a free. Perch and raylor for a mil or two for example.
He really can put a good ball in and the lad never stops running. Pure effort goal today aswell.

  18. JG I dont think that would stop his love affair with Larsson, well it didn’t stop him with his love affair with Skjelbred it only stopped when he found Larsson 😆

  21. The new me is a legend.

Anyone else find it strange how we seem to rarely win in the league these days yet its only today we lost ninth in the table?

It’s bizarre how long we kept that spot despite doing little to maintain it. If Wolves win their next game though, we’re right back into the outer reaches of that relegation scrap though, as we’d only be about 5 points off the drop again.

I have never seen a relegation battle where about 13 teams are involved, it’s ridiculous.

      (Quote)

  22. JG I dont know what happened to him ever sense Larsson came on the scene he has been dropped 😀
FJ I wouldn’t go as far as a Legend 😆 your right about the way the league is like 😕

  28. Ha, X.L.Ent. Barcelona win the league tonight.

I am not sure how any neutral can want Barcelona to lose. They are the ultimate team, the best club team in history in my books and the template every fan wants his team to be like. Unless you liked the Sam Allardyce days, lol.

first goal he has ever scored against real i think 😥

  34. Barcelona got the goals and eliminated Chelsea. They didn’t rob anyone, Chelsea choked. The ref being a lemon in the game just tainted it all.

If Chelsea did that to Barcelona, it would be resilience and determination. The English team got done over, however, so it is robbery. Typical.

Which alias is he on though? That’s the question. I have always thought my wife is bi-polar but a man having 4 personalities? Some serious issues there!

    Night night booby 😉
